Have you noticed somethings you have will power with? and somethings you don’t? We are all much the same in that regard.
Those areas where we have low will power, they are always low on our values. Those areas where we have high levels of will power, they are always high on our values. We can tell those things that are high on our values because we are always good at it, we are always on top of it, we are always motivated we are always reliable. We tend to use language like just do it, just like that Nike motto.
Those areas in our life that are low on our values we will often use imperative language like I am trying to do this. I am trying to do that.
Over 2,400 years ago the Greek Philosopher Aristotle said you can’t feel fulfilled unless you are doing something you value. In fact our Life is a print out of what we value.
In terms of loosing weight and getting our bodies back into balance, and importantly keeping it that way, the right mindset and the right strategies is crucial. The combination of this with hypnosis (which is all about our automatic behaviour) is where we get the best results.
The fact is whatever we value (whether that serves us or not) will dictate our destiny. If we don’t change our psychology we can’t change our physiology long-term? That is why diets if they do work will often only work in the short term, and many people will actually put more weight on than before they started the diet.
The key to success is about having our values in Alignment with our Life Style.
As an observation those people who are ready to make those changes, and have a bit of get up and go about them, that is exactly what we will do.

Just a quick thank you. I think I have tried every diet known to mankind to no avail. I have now been around the 65kg mark for six months now. Your combination of hypnosis and getting into the right mind set was spot on. I feel great, my energy levels are great and I can’t thank you enough.
This is a quick thank you. I saw you 18 months ago now for weight control. I have been at my target weight of 70kg (+ or – 3kg) now for over 12 months. The 20 kg came off slowly (about five months) and I am now very confident that it will never come back on.

Well I reached my three months yesterday… After a very turbulent time over the past six weeks with my parents (dad really ill, and had to put mum into permanent care), I am feeling really motivated and healthy. I have lost 7.5kg, and am on the move again. I really enjoying my morning walks with Pete and my dogs, but also very happy to go on my own which has never been the case. My goal now is to get the 10kg mark over the next three weeks. Thank you so much for your support and your phone calls, I will keep you posted on my progress.
As I mentioned the last time we spoke, I said I would give you some feedback. This is a little overdue and here it is:
I had a stop smoking session with John in 2008. I quit rather easily despite going through the death of my father. He died suddenly of a heart attack – he was a non-smoker for the last 30 years and was at that time 10kg lighter than me.
In June 2009, I saw John for weight loss, at the time I was 115kg (I put on 10kg since I quit the cigs). By the end of 2009, I think from memory I was around the 85kg mark. Today and for the last few years my weight has fluctuated between 77 to 80kg.
I am aware that the percentage of people who are actually successful long-term in maintaining their ideal weight is tiny. For that reason I would like to share with you how I was able to maintain this very different lifestyle I enjoy today.
Firstly, the timing was right. I saw John when I had enough of that old sedentary lifestyle. I think I saw exactly the right person – no question John, you were a catalyst and I can’t thank you enough. I think the most important part of it though was I took responsibility for making those changes; at times I admit it wasn’t easy.
But I maintained the importance of feeling fit – as I see it I have to keep up with my kids, they are also a big catalyst. At the end of the day there are many reasons for this new me. It is the awareness and the importance of these reasons that will no doubt carry me through into old age. Thanks again.
